Alyce Marie Blackmer went to sleep in Jesus on December 17, 2021, at the age of 60. Alyce was born in Lansing, Michigan, on January 11, 1961, the daughter of Lyle and Marion (Fuller) Lawrence.
Alyce was a member of the Lansing Seventh-day Adventist Church and worked for several years in the conference office as an administrative assistant, among other responsibilities over the years. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and sister. She worked alongside her husband, Scott, at the Hamlin Fire Department and was lovingly referred to as “Chief A.” Alyce loved knitting, crocheting, reading, and camping with her husband.
Alyce is survived by her parents, Lyle and Marion Lawrence of Eaton Rapids; husband, Scott Blackmer; son, Scott Alan (Racheal) Blackmer; daughters, Alyna (Jason) Stone, Alyssa (Michael) Castanon; grandchildren, Scott James, Abigail Blackmer, Ryker Stone; brothers, William (Kayla) Lawrence, Robert (Tammy) Lawrence; sister, Kathleen Lawrence; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be open to the public on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 4-7 PM at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel in Eaton Rapids. The funeral service will be private.
